Álvaro Rodríguez Cabezas is a musician dedicated to transmitting a message through the music he performs, focusing on style, aesthetics, rhetoric and emotions. From his point of view, it is essential to know and understand the music of past centuries in order to understand better the music of later periods. In this way, he makes adaptations of baroque and classical music, always trying to give a chance to the saxophone as a versatile instrument capable of offering a new perspective. He is also very interested in the acoustic and sound possibilities of the saxophone in contemporary music, developing new techniques expanded with electronics and current innovations.

He decided to start a new stage in Basel, Switzerland, where he has studied the Master of Arts and Musical Performance at the prestigious “Hochschule für Musik-Musik Akademie Basel" with Marcus Weiss, with whom he has continued his training during the last year. This year he is doing postgraduate studies in musical performance and chamber music with his trio "A-Delta Trio" with professors Anton Kernjak and Marcus Weiss himself.
